SwapCircle is built to help real people buy and sell real items faster and safer. To keep the marketplace clean, fair, and useful for everyone, we apply a few limits and rules on how listings and features are used.
These rules protect honest sellers, serious buyers, and the overall quality of the platform.
Why These Rules Exist
Free-for-all marketplaces often become noisy, crowded, and full of fake or duplicate ads. SwapCircle uses fair-use limits to:
Reduce spam and fake listings
Give every seller a fair chance
Keep listings relevant and trustworthy
Improve buyer confidence
Listing Rules – Listings that break these rules may be removed without refund.
One item = one listing
Duplicate listings for the same item are not allowed
Reusing the same photos across multiple listings may result in removal
Misleading titles, prices, or descriptions are not allowed
Listing Duration & Renewals – This keeps listings fresh and relevant for buyers.
Regular listings are live for 15 days
Expired listings can be renewed for a short period
After repeated renewals, a listing must be reposted as new
Boosting & Visibility Limits – These limits ensure visibility tools remain effective for everyone.
To prevent unfair exposure and abuse:
1. Boost to Top
Can only be used once every 48 hours per listing
Limited number of boosts per listing
2. Top & Featured Listings
A listing cannot be Top and Featured at the same time
Switching between visibility options may require a short waiting period
Editing & Price Changes – Genuine updates are always allowed.
Excessive edits made only to avoid listing expiry are not allowed
Frequent price changes meant to manipulate visibility may be flagged
Reviews & Ratings – Abuse of the review system may result in account restrictions.
Reviews must be based on real interactions
One review per buyer per listing
Fake, abusive, or retaliatory reviews will be removed
Reporting & False Reports
We encourage users to report suspicious listings or behaviour.
However:
Repeated false or malicious reports are not allowed
Abuse of the reporting system may lead to penalties
Account Sharing & Bundle Misuse – Unused bundle features do not carry forward after expiry.
Accounts are personal and must not be shared
Listing bundles and paid features are tied to one account
Sharing or reselling features may result in suspension
What Happens If Rules Are Broken? – In serious cases, no refunds will be issued.
Depending on the situation, SwapCircle may:
Remove a listing
Limit certain features
Temporarily suspend an account
Permanently ban repeat offenders
Our Commitment: We apply these rules fairly and consistently. Our goal is not punishment, but a marketplace where good sellers succeed and buyers feel safe. If you believe a mistake was made, you can always contact support for review.
